Tofu In Szechuan Sauce


(Serves 4)

Chinese Tofu



  • 1 box Unicurd Chinese Tofu
  • 1 Tbsp soybean oil
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 Tbsp garlic, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp spring onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp hot bean paste
  • 1/2 Tbsp corn flour, mix with 3 Tbsps of water
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp black vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Cut one side of plastic film from tofu box and heat in a microwave on high for 3mins. Remove tofu from box and cut into 8 slices. Arrange on a flat plate or dish. Heat oil in a wok, stir fry ginger, garlic, spring onion and hot bean paste until fragrant. Add seasoning and bring to boil. Add corn flour mixture. When sauce thickens, pour over tofu.

Hot Tips:

Tofu can be steamed for 10mins instead of microwaving.
